NEW CASTLE (WPVI) -- A serious crash along Route 13 left four people injured in New Castle County.

It happened around 2 p.m. Saturday on the 100 block of North DuPont Highway in New Castle.

Police say two cars collided, and the impact sent one of the vehicles off the road and into a street light.

Upon arrival, paramedics found a 62-year-old male driver trapped inside a vehicle.

Firefighters freed the man from the vehicle, and was he treated on the scene and taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

A 38-year-old male driver and a 47-year-old female passenger were treated on the scene and taken to Christiana Hospital in serious, but stable condition.

A 60-year-old female passenger of a vehicle was treated on the scene and taken to Christiana Hospital in stable condition.

Part of Route 13 was closed as police investigated.
