Delaware State Police are looking for any possible witnesses to an early morning assault at a gas station in Newark.

It happened just before 2 a.m. Sunday at a Shell Station on Christiana Road.

Police say a man was accosted by four attackers as he got out of his car.

The suspects then chased the driver around the parking lot, police say.

The victim was able to get back into his car and drive away, but not before striking one of the suspects with his vehicle.

That suspect was taken to the hospital for nonlife-threatening injuries.

The victim was not hurt.
