Taming a dangerous thoroughfare

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia Mayor Jim Kenney Wednesday announced a plan to make big safety changes to Roosevelt Boulevard.

Kenney says the 14 mile stretch of road that runs from Broad street to Bucks county is too dangerous.

There have been more than 3 thousand crashes reported in the past 5 years, many of which were fatal.

So the city is launching a 3 year long, 5 million dollar traffic study.

Residents will have the chance to suggest improvements at five public forums this month.
