Veteran, Villanova alum honored in Northeast Philadelphia

NORTHEAST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A hometown hero was honored Sunday in Northeast Philadelphia.

A memorial was dedicated for Herman Drizin, affectionately known as "Chuck," at the Jewish War Veterans Post that bears his name.

Drizin was a Marine Lieutenant when he died in the battle of Iwo Jima back in 1945.

Before he was drafted, Drizin was a starter for the Villanova Basketball team from 1941 to 1943.
