Man shot dead inside car in West Philadelphia

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Police are searching for answers after a man was found murdered inside a car in West Philadelphia.

The incident happened around 2:15 a.m. Tuesday on the 1600 block of North Redfield Street.

Neighbors called police after seeing the victim in the car. They thought the man was asleep or dead from a medical emergency.

Medics arrived to find a man in his 20s the victim of a shooting. He was pronounced dead at the scene.

Police think the victim lived on the street, and may have been in the car for several hours.

Investigators are interviewing family members and neighbors.

They are also checking surveillance video.
