Victim hospitalized after West Oak Lane house fire

A person is hospitalized after a house fire in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane section.

WEST OAK LANE (WPVI) -- A person is hospitalized after a house fire in Philadelphia's West Oak Lane section.

The fire started around 8:28 p.m. Thursday in a row home located along the 2400 block of 77th Avenue.

Upon arrival, fire crews reported heavy fire showing from the two-story home.

It took fire crews about 15 minutes to knock down the flames, officials say.

A search of the premises led firefighters to the victim.

He was taken to Einstein Medical Center for smoke inhalation.

No word on the extent of his injuries or the cause of the fire.
