PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) --A beautiful weekend is in store, but many people in our area decided to get an early start enjoying the sunshine.
We saw rowers on the Schuylkill River and runners on Kelly Drive on Friday. We even caught up with people who are starting to think about their gardens.
At Primex Garden Center, people were stocking up.
"It's going to be a nice weekend, the weather is going to be beautiful, people have spring fever!" said Dawn McDowell of Primex.
Several weeks ago, when big chills followed warm temperatures, employees here warned customers to protect their plants. But many just decided to wait until spring was a sure thing.
Meanwhile, at the Philadelphia Zoo, kids both big and small were ready to knock down the gates!
"They have off from school, we didn't want to stay in today, it's gorgeous out!" said Kristen Serlen.
"Certainly hoping spring is on the way. Seems like a good day for an adventure," said Connor Shinoy.
Chopper 6 was even overhead as one dog got a workout in the springtime sun!
