Woman critical after being hit by car in Center City

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A woman is in critical condition after being struck by a vehicle in Center City Philadelphia.

The incident happened just after 5 p.m. Tuesday at 8th and Spruce streets.

Police say the woman, believed to be in her mid-50s, was taken to Jefferson University Hospital with serious injuries.

The striking vehicle remained at the scene.
