PHOTOS: Drug sweep in western Pa. nets 35 arrests

A total of 35 people accused of distributing or possessing illegal drugs have been rounded up as part of a major sweep, the Pennsylvania Attorney General's office announced this week.

The charges were result of a yearlong investigation into drug activity in Blair County, which includes the city of Altoona.

The investigation primarily focused on heroin and prescription narcotics, authorities say, but cocaine, LSD, ecstasy, bath salts and marijuana were also part of the investigation.

The investigation included controlled purchases using confidential informants and undercover officers.

One of those arrested is from Philadelphia: Hakeem Johnson, 22, of Race St.

Those arrested were identified as:

Nicolas Yohrling, 28, of 16th St., Altoona, is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as one count of criminal conspiracy (heroin/cocaine).

Addison Dunn, 18, of E. 4th Ave., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and criminal conspiracy (LSD/molly).

Carl Ruckinger, 35, of 3rd Ave., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and criminal conspiracy (suboxone).

Rudaina Eltayeb, 30, of Willow Ave., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and criminal conspiracy (heroin).

Elizabeth Garner, 56, of Circle Ave., Altoona, is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (Methadone).

Samuel Hicks, 47, of Reightown Road, Tyrone, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and criminal conspiracy (crack cocaine).

Brady Whitfield, 23, of South St., Altoona, is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (heroin).

Al-Jernon Smith, 26, of N. 5th St., Altoona, is charged with three counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as one count of criminal conspiracy (crack/heroin).

Danielle Copenhaver, 29, of Pine Ave., Altoona, is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (suboxone/opana).

David Miller, 23, of 6th Ave., Altoona, is charged with three counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as two counts of criminal conspiracy (suboxone/heroin).

Russell Grager Jr., 22, of 6th Ave., Altoona, is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as one count of criminal conspiracy (tramadol/marijuana).

Richard Jukes Jr., 22, of 5th St., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and criminal conspiracy (marijuana).

Scott Hite, 47, of Catfish Road, Duncansville, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and criminal conspiracy (bath salts).

Michael Shevenock, 45, of Jessica St. Hollidaysburg, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (bath salts).

Clinton Colligan, 38, of N. 8th Ave., Altoona, is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (suboxone).

Benjamen Otto, 40, of Broad St., Hollidaysburg, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility, criminal conspiracy and false identification (bath salts).

Ryan Dodson, 34, of 3rd Ave., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (bath salts).

Daniel Kelley, 58, of Lindsey St., Hollidaysburg, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and a violation of the vehicle code (bath salts).

Cameron Mease, 26, no fixed address, is charged with one count of theft and receiving stolen property (theft of city funds).

Vernon Steele, 45, of 1st Ave., Altoona, is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility (oxycodone/morphine).

Hakeem Johnson, 22, of Race St., Philadelphia, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal use of a communication facility and endangering the welfare of a child (heroin look-a-like).

Tiffany Thompkins, 25, of 13th Ave., Altoona, is charged with three counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as one count of criminal conspiracy (heroin).

Donald Jones, 38, of 6th Ave., Altoona, is charged with four counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (heroin).

Michael Rupert II, 26, of 14th Ave., Altoona, is charged with two counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as one count of criminal conspiracy (heroin).

Christopher Woomer, 39, of Spruce Ave., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility (heroin).

Khalil Graham, 25, of Broad Ave., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (heroin).

Terron Miller, 29, of 14th Ave., Altoona, is charged with five counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility (heroin).

James Rodgers, 36, of E. 5th St., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance, criminal conspiracy and criminal use of a communication facility (heroin).

Courtney Gority, 32, of 18th Ave., Altoona, is charged with three counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as two counts of criminal conspiracy (heroin/methadone).

Hope Koch, 42, of 13th Ave., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (crack).

Wayne Weaver, 37, of Grant Ave., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (oxycodone).

Jerrell Smith, 28, of Langdon St., 1st Floor, Philadelphia, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (heroin).

Kenneth O'Schea, 33, of Logan Ave., Altoona, is charged with one count each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility (crack).

Nicole Peterson, 26, of E PVB, Altoona, is charged with three counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia (heroin).

Adam Ozio, 27, of E PVB, Altoona, is charged with three counts each of possession with intent to deliver or delivery of a controlled substance, possession of a controlled substance and criminal use of a communication facility, as well as two counts of criminal conspiracy and one count of possession of drug paraphernalia (heroin).
