A man is stable after a shooting in Wilmington.

WILMINGTON (WPVI) -- A 42-year-old man is stable after a shooting in Wilmington.

It happened shortly after 9 p.m. Friday along the 3100 block of North Madison Street.

Police say the victim was shot in the chest and treated at the scene.

He was then rushed to Christiana Hospital where he is listed in stable condition.

So far, no arrests or motive.

On 22 April 2016 at approximately 2050 hours police responded to the 3100 block of N. Madison Street in reference to a shooting investigation. Arriving officers located a 42 year old male victim suffering from a gunshot wound to his upper torso. The victim was treated on scene by New Castle County Paramedics and transported to the Christiana Emergency Room in stable condition. The circumstances surrounding the shooting remain under investigation. Anyone with information in reference to this investigation is asked to call A.Reddick at 302-576-3620.

wilmington police are investigating a shooting that has a man fighting for his life. It happened shortly after 9pm along the 3-THOUSAND BLOCK of MADISON STREET. Details remain sketchy but the victim, approximately 25-years of age, was shot in the chest. Medics rushed the man to christiana hospital for care...he was deemed a trauma code while in transit. At this time, no arrest and no confirmation on a motive.
