A teenager has died from her injuries after being hit by a vehicle on a South Jersey street.

WASHINGTON TWP., N.J. (WPVI) -- A teenager has died after she was struck by a vehicle Saturday near the Washington Township Carnival.

The victim's family tells us 15-year-old Gavyn Connolly died Monday, surrounded by relatives and friends.

A family spokesperson tell Action News that Gavyn's organs will be donated.

The Sicklerville teen was injured in a crash around 8:30 Saturday night on Route 42 near Greentree Road in Washington Township.

Police say Gavyn was hit by a Toyota Yaris, driven by a 21-year-old man.

The driver of the striking vehicle left the scene, but returned 10 minutes later, police say.

It's unclear if Gavyn had been attending the nearby Washington Township Carnival, which was sponsored by Washington Township High School.

Police say it is unclear if the victim and driver saw one another before the impact.

So far, no charges have been filed.

Police are asking anyone with information to contact investigators.
