SOUTHAMPTON TWP., N.J. -- New Jersey State Police are investigating the discovery of a body in Burlington County on Sunday morning.

The discovery was made around 11:16 a.m. in the area of Route 70 and U.S. Route 206 in Southampton Township.

According to investigators, the discovery was made by a search team that was out looking for a man who has been missing for a year.

Search teams discovered a body on Sunday morning in Burlington County.

However, there was no word on if the body was that missing man.

In fact, police say, body was too badly deteriorated for them to even immediately determine the gender.
