Woman burned in Germantown house fire

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- A 67-year-old woman is in the hospital after she was burned in a house fire in Philadelphia's Germantown section.

The fire started past 12:30 a.m. Thursday on the 6200 block of North 17th Street.

Firefighters located the blaze on the second floor in a middle bedroom.

They were able to place the fire under control within ten minutes.

The victim suffered second degree burns to her face and neck, and smoke inhalation.

She is listed in serious but stable condition.

So far, no word on what caused the blaze.
