Delaware State Police are investigating after a dump truck and a car collided in bear, Delaware.

BEAR, Del. (WPVI) -- An 18-year-old woman is critical after a dump truck and a car collided in Bear, Delaware.

The crash occurred around 3 p.m. Thursday at Route 40 and Brookmont Drive.

Chopper 6 was over the scene as fire crews arrived, and found a female driver trapped inside the car.

Crews worked for about 30 minutes before freeing the woman, officials say.

The victim was treated on the scene for lower body, head and possible internal injuries. She was then transported by Delaware State Police helicopter to Christiana Hospital in critical condition.

Route 40 westbound is closed in the area as Delaware State Police investigate.
