A-five-year-old Colorado girl was suspended for bringing a plastic princess bubble gun to school.

Brighton school officials called her mother, and had her removed from class.

The school's policy says, students can be suspended for fake firearms that could be mistaken for real firearms.

The girl's mother, who does not want to be identified, says the suspension is too much.

An ACLU official says most of the punishments have become a national embarrassment.
