WILMINGTON (WPVI) -- A school community came together Sunday to remember a teenager whose life was cut short by violence.

Nativity Preparatory School in Wilmington held a prayer service to remember Brandon Wingo.

Wingo, 15, was shot and killed Thursday afternoon as he was walking home from school.

He was a 9th-grader at Howard High School of Technology, and had graduated from Nativity Prep just last year.

"This is, I guess, a safe place to feel all of the things, and be with each other, especially in the face of a city that isn't safe or doesn't feel safe at the moment," said Paul Webster, principal.

There have been no arrests in the case, but sources tell Action News they do know the name of the alleged gunman.

The shooting came just weeks after another Howard student, 16-year-old Amy Joyner Francis, died after a fight in one of the school's bathroom.
