Radnor High School's new veterans' memorial opened Friday. The 26-foot-long Wall of Honor commemorates the school's alumni who died serving our country.

The names of 58 veterans from Radnor High School were read aloud by students and staff as they prepared to honor our country's fallen on Memorial Day.

Dave Wood, a teacher at Radnor High, said, "We don't have this weekend off for any other purpose than to honor the people who lost their lives in service to this country."

Students attending Friday's opening day assembly complied the research to help create the living memorial.

Jax Norman, a junior, said, "Interviewing the families and really getting to know how their deaths impacted the community really made me connect with the project."

"This means a lot to me because my father was a sailor in the Navy," said junior Azamat Fayzurlayed. "The absolute sacrifice they gave is unbelievable."

There is also a touchscreen where students can watch a short video about each veteran.

The students told Action News this was more than just another school project.

It was a way to give back, and thank all those who serve.

Junior Connie Douthwaite said, "My brothers and sisters - and my kids if I have them - when they come here, will say, my mom did this."
