Lifeguard tryouts in A.C.
The Atlantic City beach patrol is looking to fill a staffing shortage

ATLANTIC CITY, N.J. (WPVI) -- The Atlantic City beach patrol is looking to fill a staffing shortage.

For the first time in three years, they'll hold lifeguard tryouts.

The beach patrol needs about 30 new lifeguards.

Last season 130 guards protected Atlantic City's roughly 3 and a half miles of beaches.

A first year lifeguard in Atlantic City makes about one hundred dollars a day.

The tryout will be held Sunday morning at 9 at the South Carolina Avenue beach.
