PHILADELPHIA -- Police are looking for the gunman who opened fire while on Interstate 95 in Philadelphia on Tuesday.
The incident happened shortly before 6:30 a.m. in the northbound lanes near the Girard Point Bridge.
"At one point he was adjacent to the victim, displayed a firearm and a few minutes later the victim was ahead of the suspect and at that time heard the sound of a gunshot," Pennsylvania State Trooper Brian Maturo said.
The suspect had fired one round into the 38-year-old victim's car causing his tire to blow out.
The victim was able to safely pull over and spot the suspect in a dark colored, 2000's model, Chevrolet Impala or Malibu speeding off onto the Broad Street exit.
The suspect is described as a black male, 30 to 40 years old, with facial hair.
He is facing charges including aggravated assault and attempted homicide.
"This was the second shooting in a one month time period," Maturo said.
The early morning shooting comes a month after state police arrested a man for allegedly shooting into a car on the Blue Route.
It is a reminder that these acts of road rage are becoming all too common on Pennsylvania roads.
Anyone with information is asked to call Pennsylvania Crime Stoppers at 1-800-4PA-TIPS.
