The Philadelphia Eagles were on the field for more than two hours Wednesday.

But everyone was focused on two players - quarterbacks Sam Bradford and Carson Wentz.

Wentz did his homework when it came to preparing for the NFL. But there's one thing that surprised him.

"Just the locker room. It's usually something you don't think of, but coming out of college, everyone talks about it being a business, everyone is out just to get theirs and everything, but coming in here is just a bunch of awesome guys. It's a really good locker room, a really close-knit group, and that's been a real positive surprise for me," Wentz said.

Among those guys, the one he'll likely replace.

For Sam Bradford, everything is different this year.

His knee is healthy, even if his mental state, may not be. But it sounds like his new coach Doug Pederson is the key to fixing that.

"He's just a class act. He's a great guy. I think I'm even closer to him now than I was before. I give him a lot of credit for handling it the way he did," Bradford said.

One thing that seems to excite Bradford is he'll have more freedom in Pederson's offense. Chip Kelly's tempo, didn't allow for that.

"With that freedom there comes a lot of responsibility. You're in charge of getting into the right play, getting out of a bad play, you're responsible for really everyone out there," Bradford said.

After camp Thursday, the team will have a six week break before training camp. The quarterbacks, wide receivers, and tight ends will head out to San Diego for one of those weeks to work together and they say it will be beneficial, both on and off the field.

"Just develop a rapport, develop timing, not only on the field and doing some routes, but be around the guys some more, hang out, spend time with them, get to know them on another level," Wentz said.
