Police: Driver facing DUI in Center City hit-and-run

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Police say a driver is facing charges for allegedly driving drunk and leaving the scene of an accident after a hit-and-run in Center City Philadelphia.

The crash happened around 2:30 a.m. Saturday when a 48-year-old man was crossing the 200 block of South Broad Street.

Police say the victim was struck when he stepped out from behind a Wawa delivery truck.

Witnesses told police a small blue car hit the man before fleeing.

The car was located on the unit block of Juniper Street and the driver was arrested.

The victim is in serious condition at Jefferson University Hospital.
