2 critically injured in Bear, Delaware crash

BEAR, Del. (WPVI) -- Two people were critically injured in a crash in Bear, Delaware.

The crash occurred shortly after 12:30 a.m. Sunday on southbound Route 1 just north of Route 40.

Police say the driver of a Volkswagen lost control and veered off the road into a tree.

Firefighters had to cut the victims out of the vehicle.

They were taken to Christiana Hospital.
