Philadelphia city council is considering the impact of immigration laws created twenty years ago

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- Philadelphia city council is considering the impact of immigration laws created twenty years ago.

They held a hearing on the immigration laws passed in 1996, and how they have affected the local community.

Critics say deportation has skyrocketed because of how immigrants are treated in the justice system.

Deported and detained philadelphians and their families testified on the impact of the policies.
