Raising voices and raising money for vets
An annual Philadelphia event that benefits local veterans has raised over a million dollars and counting

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- An annual Philadelphia event that benefits local veterans has raised over a million dollars and counting.

This is the 10th anniversary for the fundraiser.

WMGK radio has been broadcasting from outside the National Constitution Center since early Friday morning, taking donations over the phone and in person.

Radio personality John DeBella is prooud of this effort, "There is no veterans homeless here in Philadelphia. We eradicated that as of 2015. It was a 2 year project, and because of the money raised through the veterans radio-thon we were able to work with these men and women and find them homes."

To help raise money, special guests stopped by including Mayor Jim Kenney and Governor Tom Wolf.
