BOSTON, Mass. (WPVI) -- It's no secret, for a long time Americans have had one of the worst diets of any developed nation.
But a new report shows some signs of improvement.
There's been an increase in the amount of whole grains and nuts people are eating.
And there's been a big drop in servings of sugar-sweetened drinks, like soda, lemonades, and teas.
The percentage of people eating an overall bad diet has also decreased 10-percent over the past decade.
However, the amount of fruits and vegetables people eat has NOT gone up - and sodium hasn't gone down.
The survey also didn't look at whether portion sizes have decreased.
One obstacle to a better diet is trying to make too many changes all at once.
Instead, try one small change every week or so, and give each one time to become a habit.
