CHOP Reach Out and Read Program

UNIVERSITY CITY (WPVI) -- The Children's Hospital of Philadelphia celebrated a milestone Tuesday night.

Its Reach Out and Read Program just donated its one millionth book.

The program gives young children in pediatric care books and encourages families to read aloud together.

It first began in 1996.

The one millionth book's recipient is three year old Ashton, who loves to read.
