Firefighters rescued a man in his 50s from a burning home in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- Firefighters rescued a man in his 50s from a burning home in the Germantown section of Philadelphia.

The fire started around 5 p.m. Saturday in the 5000 block of Tacoma Street.

When firefighters arrived, there were reports that someone was trapped inside the home.

They were able to pull the man out.

Fire Commissioner Adam Thiel even tweeted saying it was a great rescue.

The man was taken to Temple University Hospital for smoke inhalation and second-degree burns. No word on his condition at this time.

Officials say the fire was placed under control within 20 minutes.

The cause of the fire is under investigation.
