40 shots fired at vehicle in Chester; driver hurt

CHESTER, Pa. (WPVI) -- A man was wounded after 40 shots were fired at a vehicle in Chester, Delaware County.

The incident happened around 1 a.m. Wednesday at the intersection of 12th and Chestnut streets.

Police say it appears the victim was trying to get to the ramp for I-95 northbound when someone opened fire.

The vehicle was found with 40 shell casings surrounding it.

The man was rushed to the hospital. No word on his condition.

Police are investigating the shooting.
