Police come upon shootout in Feltonville, 1 arrested

FELTONVILLE (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police officers responding to a disturbance call ended up in the middle of a gun battle in Feltonville.

Police tell Action News two men were involved in a shootout near the 4800 block of Rising Sun Avenue around 5:45 a.m. Sunday.

After arriving on the scene, two officers got out of their cruiser and chased both of the suspected shooters.

One suspect was arrested.

The other man got away, but his gun has been recovered, police say.

No weapons were fired by police.

The incident occurred just blocks from where protesters confronted police officers from the 25th District Saturday night on Cayuga Street.
