Mom pens letter after son with Down Syndrome excluded from party

A mother in Canada wrote an emotional open letter on social media, after finding out her child was excluded from a birthday party.

Jennifer Engele's 8-year-old son Sawyer was the only child in his class not to get an invitation.

She says it was because Sawyer has Down Syndrome.

Engele explains in her social media post that she wants both kids and parents to be better educated.

"I felt really hurt for him that he wasn't included in something.I really should have been talking to them and explaining what does Down syndrome mean," said Engele.

Engele says support has been overwhelming.

And the family has since extended a birthday invitation to Sawyer.
