Alligator becomes too big to live at Florida home

COCONUT GROVE, Fla. -- A pizza-eating alligator may need to go on a diet.

David Van Buren has had the 13-foot reptile for the past 47 years, since he was a boy.

The gator, named Gwendolyn, even went to college with him.

But now, officials say the animal is too big for Van Buren's Florida backyard.

If the retired firefighter makes some changes to his property, he will be able to keep Gwen.

Fish and wildlife officials say, the pair have been together for so long, the domestic home is actually what's best for the gator.
