Man shot 3 times during attempted robbery in Summerdale

SUMMERDALE (WPVI) -- A man was shot three times during a robbery attempt at his home in Philadelphia's Summerdale neighborhood.

It happened around 3:30 a.m. when a 49-year-old man parked his car in the rear alley of his home on the 5900 block of Loretto Avenue.

Police say he was walking to his door when a male in a blue Jeep pulled up, and got out of his car.

The suspect then approached the victim, demanding money.

According to police, before the victim could answer, the suspect allegedly opened fire, striking the victim three times.

The victim suffered a graze wound to the head, and a leg and back wound.

He was taken to Einstein Medical Center in stable condition.

The shooter drove away, and has not been located at this time.
