Philadelphia police are searching for the suspect in the brutal beating of a woman in Kensington.

SOUTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Two women are recovering after what police are calling an accidental shooting outside a South Philadelphia bar.

Police say at approximately 10:25 p.m. Saturday the two victims were standing outside the Sports Bar on the 1300 block of South 33rd Street when they heard a loud popping sound.

The two women ran from the scene. While running they both realized they were bleeding.

A 28-year-old woman was struck under her right eye. A 26-year-old was struck in the legs and right side of her body.

The victims were able to drive themselves to the Hospital of the University of Pennsylvania where they are listed in stable condition.

Police say their investigation has revealed the shooting to be an accident. They say a man accidently fired his gun.

No arrests have been made and the investigation is ongoing.
