PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Monday saw another day of high heat and humidity in the Delaware and Lehigh Valleys.

"So hot," said Julie Stapel. "It's been really, really hot."

Stapel is visiting from Chicago. She was out early climbing the steps of Philadephia Museum of Art.

You can't change the temperature, but you can bring a change of clothes.

"We get to go to the Barnes, then I have to go to work for a little while, then a Phillies game," said Stapel. "So wish me luck for an outfit that does all those things in 97-degree heat."

When the mercury rises, expect to see early risers. The heat less stifling while the sun is low in the sky.

"I like to get out a little earlier," said Detrick McGriff from Lansdale, Pa. "The sun starts to beat down on you after a while."

A slight breeze was coming off the fountain in Franklin Square Monday. It's a serene spot to sit and soak in summer.

Nearby tall trees afforded a shady spot to swing and work on your golf swing - or rather, your putt.

"We're going to play miniature golf," said one passerby.

On Independence Mall, some visitors we spoke with were prepping for a jam-packed day.

They came to the city to see the sights, 90-degree heat or not.

The visitors, from as far away as Massachusetts and Michigan, said they planned to just keep drinking plenty of water and push through.
