A two-year-old child was sent to the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation in a house blaze in North Philadelphia.

NORTH PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A 2-year-old child was sent to the hospital after suffering smoke inhalation in a house blaze in North Philadelphia.

The fire started around 2:30 a.m. Saturday on the 2800 block of Palethorp Street.

Firefighters quickly arrived and knocked down the flames, but not before the house sustained smoke and water damage.

The child was taken to St. Christopher's Hospital for treatment, and is expected to be OK.

No word on what caused the blaze.
