5-year-old boy shot in hand in Germantown

GERMANTOWN (WPVI) -- A 5-year-old boy is hospitalized after being shot in the hand in what Philadelphia police say was an accidental shooting.

It happened just before 6:30 p.m. Sunday on the 1300 block of East Rittenhouse Street in Germantown.

Police say the boy was shot once in his left hand.

The child's family rushed him to Einstein Medical Center where he is listed in stable condition.

The gun was recovered, police say.

No arrests have been made.
