VIDEO: Mailman shares heartwarming routine with dog

NEW ZEALAND -- Stereotypes tell us that a mailman and dog are rarely good friends, but a new viral video is putting an end to that cliché. Michael Collins posted a video on Facebook showing his mailman and dog sharing a sweet moment which has become a routine for the pair.

"Just want to share something cool! Everyday whether or not we have mail this mailman always stops to see my dog who is only 9 months old. He always gets over looked as a dangerous or unapproachable dog, Maybe cause he's big I am not sure," Collins wrote in the caption.

In the video, the mailman pulls his bike up to the fence where the German shepherd is waiting in the yard. The dog runs to the mailman and greets him affectionately by standing on his hind legs. That's when the mailman gives the dog a nice belly-rub, along with a few tender pats.

"This guy here always makes an effort to get off his bike to give him a hug and a pat," wrote Collins. "Thanks man. Keep up the good job and you've definitely got a friend waiting for ya!"
