Man hospitalized after crashing wheelchair into Center City Apple Store

CENTER CITY -- A man is hospitalized after crashing his wheelchair into the Apple Store in Center City.

It happened around 7 p.m. Thursday on the 1600 block of Walnut Street.

Police say the man, who was in a motorized wheelchair, crashed into the huge, double-pane glass door, leaving it crumpled and bent, and a big hole in the front of the store.

Fortunately, the reinforced glass did not break into pieces.

The man was taken to an area hospital.

No other injuries were reported.
