VIDEO: Ducis gets hit by football
Action News sports director Ducis Rodgers gets into the game - literally - before the Eagles preseason opener.

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- 6abc Action News sports director Ducis Rodgers was ready to put his head in the game to cover the first Philadelphia Eagles preseason contest Thursday night, but not like this.

As he and fellow Action News sports reporter Jamie Apody prepared for their live report from Lincoln Financial Field, they almost had to call an audible.

That's because a rogue football struck Ducis on his shoulder, near the back of his head, with just seconds to go before they were live on the air.

Ducis says he's OK, but it is still unclear where that football came from.

The two were able to continue with their report.

The Philadelphia Eagles hold their preseason opener.

But this was not the first surprise of the day for this sports reporting duo.

Earlier, Eagles' long snapper Jon Dorenbos made a cameo during Jamie's Facebook Live.
