Thousands of eyes were on the skies at the Jersey Shore Wednesday.

The 2016 edition of the annual Atlantic City Airshow thrilled audiences lined up along the beaches.

Chopper 6 HD was among the aircraft taking part in the show.

Crowds showed up early, eager to be impressed and blown away by aerobatic maneuvers as planes swoosh and dance in the air like gymnast.

"It is just very exhilarating," said David Connelly of Mays Landing, N.J. "You can't really focus on one. They are all amazing, and it makes you proud of your country. It is just cool to come out and see these."

"I was 3 years old when my dad took me to my first airshow and found my favorite, the F-14," said Joseph Lockett, Jr. of North Philadelphia. "I loved it, and I was inspired by aviation. Since I was 3, I wanted to fly one."

For some it was their first time, for others it's a tradition.

For young and old alike the event not only represents all the branches of the military but brings people together from all walks of life.

"We have been to the shows a few times," said Kenny Sharretts from Cedarville, N.J. "The very first show was awesome. We love the Thunderbirds. My son is in the 177th, so it means a lot to come to these shows."

Whether it was the Thunderbirds or the U.S. Navy F/A 18 Super Hornet Demonstration, everyone at the Airshow came to be wowed.

Many told us they were confident they wouldn't leave disappointed.

"It is so loud," said Sara Pennella of Valhalla, New York. "It's one of my passions to watch planes, and sometimes I go to the airport to watch them take off and land. And seeing all the maneuvers - it is great."
