Man critically injured in Tioga-Nicetown stabbing; suspect in custody

A suspect is in custody after a stabbing that left a man critically injured in Philadelphia's Tioga-Nicetown section.

TIOGA-NICETOWN (WPVI) -- A suspect is in custody after a stabbing that left a man critically injured in Philadelphia's Tioga-Nicetown section.

It happened around 3:18 p.m. Wednesday in front of a coffee shop, located on the 3700 block of Germantown Avenue.

Police say a 23-year-old man was stabbed once in the stomach.

He was taken to Temple University Hospital where he is listed in critical but stable condition.

It is unclear, at this time, what may have led up to the incident.

A 39-year-old man has been taken into police custody, and a weapon has been recovered.
