VIDEO: Fire Dept. ordered to remove flags
A big controversy that has firefighters in New York and social media fired up.

POUGHKEEPSIE, N.Y. (WPVI) -- The board in the town of Poughkeepsie, New York ordered the fire district to remove all American flags from their engines, ladders and rigs.

Why? Apparently the board considered the flags a liability to both the safety of firefighters and other motorists.

Well, the order did not sit well with firefighters - AT ALL.

On Wednesday, they removed the flags during a dignified ceremony. But inside they were fuming.

Because of the controversy and the social media backlash the board president is now meeting with the chief and union head to come up with a compromise.
