Tioga homicide victim identified; person of interest detained

TIOGA (WPVI) -- Philadelphia police have identified a man found mortally wounded in Tioga.

Officers arrived in the 4100 block of North Broad Street at 7:30 a.m. Sunday.

They found 36-year-old Gordon Branch from Jerome Street in Philadelphia, who had suffered an injury to the back of his head.

Branch was taken to Temple University Hospital and pronounced dead a short time later.

Police say it appears some kind of fight preceded Branch's injury.

A person of interest being questioned.

As of Monday afternoon, no arrests had been announced.
