School Block Party

WEST PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- Students and families in West Philadelphia kicked off the new school year Wednesday with a block party.

They had a bounce house, a picnic and a school supply give-a-way for the kids at West Philadelphia Achievement Charter Elementary School.

The parents also got the chance to meet with teachers and school staff.

The students head back to class September 1.
