Dog shot, wounded by police after attack reported in Tioga

TIOGA (WPVI) -- A dog has been shot and wounded by police after a reported attack in the Tioga section of Philadelphia.

The call came in at 6:40 a.m. Tuesday.

Officers arrived in the 4100 block of North Broad Street after screaming was reported in the area.

Video from Chopper 6 HD showed several police units on the scene and a long stretch of sidewalk blocked off with yellow caution tape.

Animal control officers were on the scene.

Action News is told a dog was shot and wounded by police.

There were no immediate reports of injuries to people.

Details about what led to the incident have not been released.
