The Minnesota Vikings, after losing starting quarterback Teddy Bridgewater for the 2016 season due to a severe left knee injury, made a trade with the Philadelphia Eagleson Saturdayto acquire Sam Bradford, the Eagles confirmed on Saturday.

In return, the Eagles will receive the Vikings' 2017 first-round draft pick as well as a fourth-rounder in 2018, the Eagles said.

Bradford re-signed with the Eagles in March to a two-year, $35 million deal with $22 million fully guaranteed.

The Eagles would be responsible for Bradford's $11 million signing bonus. ProFootballTalk.com reported earlier this year that $5.5 million of the $11 million signing bonus was due March 18 and the rest of the bonus was due on or before September 1. The rest of his contract -- $20 million in base salaries and $4 million March 2017 roster bonus -- would go to the Vikings.

Vikings tight ends coach Pat Shurmur was Bradford's offensive coordinator with the Eagles last season and for two seasons (2009-2010) with the Rams.

The Vikings currently have four quarterbacks on their roster, but undrafted rookie Joel Stave suffered an injury during the team's fourth preseason game and Brad Sorensen has been told he will be waived before Saturday's roster deadline for teams to reach 53 players, a league source said.

Journeyman quarterback Shaun Hill has taken over as the starter after Bridgewater was placed on injured reserve Wednesday. The Vikings also have second-year signal callerTaylor Heinickeon the roster, however he is coming back from a pre-trainingcamp injury, which landed him on the active/non-football injury list.

Heinickie's injured left foot should be fully recovered in three weeks. League sources told ESPN the team was expecting Heinickie to challenge Hill for the No. 2 job in training camp had he not suffered his injury.
