Fake cop robs female escorts at gunpoint in Upper Merion, Pa.

Upper Merion police are on the hunt for a police impersonator who robbed 2 female escorts.

Upper Merion Police are looking for a man who they say was impersonating a police officer when he robbed two female escorts at gunpoint.

Pictures of the suspect were captured by a surveillance camera.

The incident happened after 2 a.m. Saturday at a hotel in King of Prussia.

The women told police the suspect arrived at their room claiming to be a police officer taking part in a sting operation.

The man showed them a handgun and a badge, then questioned the women for about half an hour before taking their cell phones and money and leaving.

Police say no sting operation was going on at that time.

The suspect is described as 5'10' - 6' tall with a mustache, long goatee, multiple tattoos on his hands, and a blue-stone-and-diamond flower ring.

He was last seen wearing a burgundy hooded sweatshirt, a black baseball cap turned backwards, black t-shirt and blue jeans, and may have been driving a silver two-door passenger car.
