DNC delegate charged with assault at Center City Philadelphia hotel

PHILADELPHIA (WPVI) -- A man has been charged with assaulting a fellow delegate at a Center City Philadelphia hotel during the Democratic National Convention, the District Attorney's Office said.

The delegate has been identified as Walter Weeks of Garnet Valley, Pa.

The D.A.'s office said they initially declined charges in the case, but after further investigation, including reviewing additional video and eyewitness testimony, the office charged Weeks with Indecent Assault.

Weeks turned himself in to the Philadelphia Police Department's Special Victims Unit around 4 p.m. Wednesday.
