Philadelphia Works receives a financial boost

CENTER CITY (WPVI) -- A more than 3 hundred thousand dollar grant will help get more people in Philadelphia ready to find a job.

Philadelphia Works was awarded a check in Center City Thursday.

The funding is from the Chicago Cook Workforce Partnership, which is associated with the Walmart Foundation.

The money will be used for job preparation training and placement specifically in retail and related sectors in the city.
