The New Jersey State Senate's Health and Human Services Committee took up the EpiPen price controversy Thursday.

TRENTON, N.J. (WPVI) -- The New Jersey State Senate's Health and Human Services Committee took up the EpiPen price controversy Thursday.

The lawmakers shared stories from constituents on the difficulties paying for the devices, which rose from $90 to $600 for a pack of two.

Several pharmacists were there to explain what insurance covers.

Mylan pharmaceuticals, the maker of EpiPen, declined to send a representative.
